ReplyDeleteLost season 4 as good as season 1? the two of you are out of your minds. this season of Lost has been dull. seems our brave heroes have done nothing but hung around and eaten cerel and rabbit. last nights episode "meet Kevin Johnson" was unbelivable boring and the time table just doesnt add up. I hope that the five remaining episodes really deliver the punch that this season has been missing. keep drinking the cool aid kids
ReplyDeleteJoel - You silly, silly man. The time table works, the episodes have all been great, and while I don't think season 4 has been quite as good as season 1 (that was Scott), it's been damn good so far and shows no signs of stopping. I won't be influenced by your hogwash.
ReplyDeletethe time table works? at what point during season 3 is it even possible for tom to not be on the island? Micheal and walt left the island on what day 60? and now we are somewhere around day 90? your telling me Micheal and walt took that little tug boat and sailed it all the way back to new york? manged for mikey to screw up his life, attempt to kill himself and still make it back in time to join up with the crew on the frieghter? come on man even with the crazy time stuff going on I'am saying no dice!
ReplyDeletelets say it is possible. from micheals flashback we know that it is almost christmas or his mother likes to put the tree up in october. when sayid and desmond end up on the boat on christmas eve. taking in consideration travel time, it would appear that the entire crew has gone insane and suicidial after and hour and a half of micheal sabotaging the engine.
in closing I can only hope that the darma shark shows up soon so the show can offically jump him.
Joel when are you going to guest on the show?
ReplyDeletesadly I dont have a mac so I cant be a guest, sadly.
ReplyDeleteJoel - The time table may not be probable, but it is certainly possible, and it totally works for me because I'm more worried about where the show is going than how many days it took Michael to fuck up his life on the mainland.
ReplyDeleteThe way I see it, Michael could have been picked up by a barge somewhere on his way back to America. Hell, for all we know he did get there on his little tugboat, because at this point we've got no clue how close to or far from the states the island is. With all the other weird shit that's taking place on the show, who's to say that there isn't some kind of invisibility bubble around the island or something? Anything can happen on the show as we've seen thus far, so in my eyes it's foreseeable that the island is relatively close to the United States.
Then, take into account that perhaps Michael told Walt that he'd killed Libby and Anna Lucia while they were still on their way to the U.S. As soon as they got there, Walt would already have a grudge against his father, meaning that theoretically, within minutes of arriving in LA, Walt could have already come to be in his grandmother's care. From there, who is to say that Michael didn't decide later that night or the next day that he wanted to kill himself? It could happen.
As far as Tom is concerned, from the time that he ran into Michael in the alley to the time that Michael came to his hotel room was probably only a few hours. Hence, Tom could technically have only been on the mainland for less than a day, meaning that via submarine, since unlike Michael he knew exactly how to get to America asap, Tom could have been gone from the Island for less than a day depending on how far from the U.S. the island is, which, as I previously suggested, could be not far at all.
Then let's say that Michael gets on the freighter a few days later and it only takes a few days (at the most) to get to it's current location near the island (because once again, the island could be very close to the port where the freighter leaves from for all we know). Hence, the time between when Michael was at his mother's house where she already had her Christmas decorations up and when Sayid and Desmond mention that it's Christmas eve could theoretically be only a few days apart.
I'm not saying that any of this is true, but it certainly proves that, while not necessarily probable, it is completely within the realm of possibility that the time table the show has been running on makes complete sense.
The day that something truly terrible goes wrong with the show, I'll start to question it's quality, but until that happens my opinion will stay the same that LOST is the best show on television right now with the only contender even close to knocking it from it's throne being Dexter.
