***OOPS - While rambling off a list of films, Rian stated that both Vertigo and Rear Window were black and white, which he realized, not long after saying so, was inaccurate in both cases. He got Psycho right though, and one out of three ain't bad, right? Right? Also, Rian mixed up Peter Fonda and Henry Fonda in his synopsis of The Cheyenne Social Club. Consequently, he'll be accepting hate mail in this episode's comments section.

  2. I hadn't even listened to the episode yet when I posted that comment.

I'm actual listening to it right now. Not Another Teen Movie, imo, is hilarious. It was the last good genre parody movie that's come out.

Mel Brooks is still pretty much the king of parody movies.

New parody movies just pepper in jokes not relevant to the subject matter, they are not clever, they are interchangeable, and lackluster, even when executed perfectly.

South Park this week was absolutely amazing. I love Heavy Metal.

  3. Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2 was GAWD-AWFUL.
The original is pretty ok, but is severely dated.

  4. Hey Rian, you can also watch movies in black and white by lowering your color bar on your video settings of your tv down to 0.

TADA! All your movies are old all of a sudden!

Marvel at this trade secret of the pros.

  5. You know who's "schtick" I'm getting tired of?

    Jackie Chan's.

He's a normal guy who happens to know amazing kung fu and gigantic balls that can fling him off a building into a lamborgini with a sword that he uses to immobilize a hover craft.

    "I DON'T WANT NO TROUBLE!"

    We know, Jackie. We know.

I bet Rian would pop an aneurism in his brain and piss his baggy cargo shorts if Jackie Chan and Wes Andrerson made a movie together. He would hate it.

  6. Wait, Rian couldn't wrap his brain around Mirrormask?!

    Shocking.

    I'm being sarcastic.

  7. Boy oh boy. Where do I begin?

  8. i'm getting a little carried away, but find this to be a suitable way to vent my frustration when i listen to the podcast. INSTANT FEEDBACK!

You've never said anything that has gotten me going when I'm on the show, but as soon as I'm off you say so much shit I would love to be there for.

  9. Jesse needs to have his eyes checked.

Speed Racer is going to be crazy. The story might be shit, but the visuals will get any sane person psyched who's not a husky-voiced philistine (I'm talking about Jesse).

The visual style is incorporating japanese animation elements. Why is that terrible? It could be a pure delight.

And Rian? You like the second two matrix films?

    ugh.
Never talk about Wes Anderson again, please.
    For me?

  10. How about I don't talk about anything? That ought to do the trick.

  11. Boring, same ole rehash over and over. Matrix, J chan. Move on. Maybe get some of your kubert school teachers on as guest.

  12. I can say with some degree of confidence that that's most likely not going to happen.
