Hahaha, your dad just wouldn't get off the mic!
You and your dad could host a podcast every week, although that could kill you. Or him.
Nice sentimental ending. I appreciate all the nice words. Jesse, come to Baltimore and we can go to an O's game and the National Aquarium and all the touristy things I haven't done in 15 years. Do you like Thai food? Kurt can take you to the battlefields, 'cause that's lame.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian!
ReplyDeleteI don't really want to go to the battlefields I just remember Kurt saying that we col visit there and I thought it would be funny if I brought that up to spite Rian! I wouldn't mind checking out Gettysburg though. I think that could be neat.
I would love to go to an O's game though!
Hope you enjoyed the episode, I know it was a long one but I think it was a good one. It was a lot of fun having you and everyone on the show.
after reading Brian's second post I had to check out the end before I listen to the entire episode at work tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhen you apply to the kubert school Mike chen should send out a cd with an episode of sidetracked on it and tell the person to draw and listen to it. Because its pretty much what being in class sounds like. I wish more people we went to school with did podcast Just so I could listen to them crazy cool kids we went to school with. Id listen. well not if it was ron, or suz, or Joey P....but you know what I'm saying
Its nice to have that to listen to when your stuck working in a horrible factory where dumb people are talking about how great a movie G-force is. so you boys have gotten me through many a long night at work.
despite all the fighting over the stupidest stuff on the planet. Rian remains very high on the "people I miss the most from Kubert school list. " so its nice to hear his crazy ramblings on how GIJOE was Enjoyable or the Remake of Halloween is better then the original, even when in the end I just think he is nuts.
its also cool how this Podcast took jesse, someone I only kind of knew from school and turned him into one of my friends. the other day watching the JETS I got a text from Jesse (who assured me that the JETS couldnt lose after being up by 11 ) my dad asked who it was and I was like its my buddy Jesse, son step off. then he punched me in the face.
we need a kubie reunion.
anyway, looking forward to episode 100 and when ever this 2.0 kicks off.
Thanks Joel!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. I remember the few times we hung out at school and even though we are a whole continent away I feel like we've become better friends through the podcast. Its a pretty cool thing, this whole internet thingamjig.
I look forward to having you on the future version of the show whatever that is.
Jesse
Good episode guys. I find it funny that Rian's dad has listened to 50 episodes of Sidetracked, when my dad has not and will not ever listen to a single one I've done. In fact, I was listening to my segment today to hear how it turned out, and my dad was in the other room doing laundry. I expected he might come in and ask if it were the podcast I just recorded, and maybe ask for a link to it like my mom does. No, he told me to turn it down because it was annoying and he didn't want to have to listen to it.
ReplyDeleteRian, tell your dad I love Kung-Fu Panda too. I liked it more than Wall-E. I haven't watched it as many times as him, but I can't wait for Kung-Fu Panda 2.
@ Brian
ReplyDeleteYou'll take Jesse to the Aquarium, but you wouldn't take the girl you were f***ing who wanted to go, and who probably would have blown you in front of the shark tank?
@ Jesse
I thought it was fucking weird that you said you wanted to go to the battlefields... If you want to go to Gettysburg, we can got to the Majestic Theater and see an indy movie, then get the full Civil War experience by eating at a classy establishment called The Lincoln Diner
@ Joel
I think you may be in the lead of the "biggest fan" category. Brian's never gotten as mushy as you just did about the show. You're gonna make me cry like your great grandfather when the white man threw a candy wrapper on the side of the road.
What we need to do is get a bunch of people together in the same room for a round-table Sidetracked Podcast like Jesse, Andre, and I did for the wedding episode.
@ Scott
I think my dad just likes hearing Jesse talk since he's more like the son he wishes he had than I am, because they could watch football and give me shit about my lifestyle together.
thats why you guys should come to chicago con this year we could do a round table chat.
ReplyDeleteI want to go to the lincoln diner.
this is why we Indians never show any emotion as soon as we do whitey throws it back in our faces. back to the res for me!
@ Joel
ReplyDeleteWhen Jenny's done student teaching and gets a job, she and Jesse can visit, then you can swing by my neck of the woods and the four of us and Brian can go get some crummy diner food in Gettysburg.
