paranormal activity is a fun movie experience but not A good movie. I'd never had a theater experience quite like it, a sold out group of people on the edge of their seats waiting for something/anything to happen. parts of the movie are really lame.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure that the people in front of me in the theater thought it was real. My brothers girlfriend was really freaked out so for the rest of the night I walked up and down the stairs really loudly.
the ending is painfully bad I wish they would have used one of the two alt. endings. The ending really turns the whole thing into a big joke.

the scene with the ouji board being on fire and micah's reaction to it after the fact doesnt make sense....I think the ghost is trying to tell us something! dude! the board was on fire! just randomly burst into flames?!!!!! and your more concerned with the message!
Are you as mad as Rian was at me for spoiling it?
ReplyDeleteMicah's character is more of an antagonist in Paranormal Activity than the "haunting presence", because he's the one who keeps the plot moving, honestly. Shit wouldn't even be hitting the fan if it weren't for him egging on the "presence", so I'm willing to forgive some of the inconsistencies in Micah's character and his reactions to things. If he'd suddenly gotten scared and reserved after the Ouija Board scene there'd be no reason for the hauntings to get worse. It never took me out of the movie though, so I'm willing to accept those small flaws in lieu of the greater good. As I said during the show, it's not a perfect movie, but I give it mad props for fucking with people the way that it does.
ReplyDeleteI agree though, that the ending is the worst part. Though, despite how much I disliked it, it got the biggest reactions from the audience. Then again, that's because it's a cheap scare, which is what I had a problem with in the first place.
nah, movie isnt that good. spoil away
