ReplyDeleteGlad everyone loved Fast Five!
Rian, I'm glad you like Red Dead. I think you sell GTA 4 a little short though. It's definitely not all about going on rampages. I do like the consequence factor in Red Dead because I feel players should focus on the story of GTA. I can't wait for LA NOIRE next Tuesday. You should watch the videos on Rockstar's site. They look amazing. Then, no games until November with Uncharted 3. Good thing because I don't think I'll even find the time to play Fight Night, Red Dead, and LA NOIRE in the meantime.
Thanks for the kind words Jesse ;)
I did say on the show that I haven't really played GTA 4 and don't know what Rockstar may or may not have changed about the gameplay, but my main point was that, as Jesse put it, there are consequences in Red Dead while, as far as I know, in any of the GTA games you have the option of causing chaos without worrying about what it will mean for the rest of your campaign (for lack of a better word). I'm not saying that all GTA 4 is good for is trying to max out your "wanted" meter, but I can say that it's not really an option in Red Dead unless you want to screw yourself over in the long run.
ReplyDeleteJust listened to this show and the last (We just had a baby so a bit behind), I gotta say these were two really good shows! I don't know what sets them apart from the last few, but there's just some spark in them. Loved the talk on the art selling and Rian's con experience.
ReplyDeletePerfect show to draw to.
Congratulations, Nico!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the props. Jesse and I definitely recognize that some shows are better than others. Personally, I thought that I was kind of weak in 158, but I think 159 and 160 are two of our best shows in recent memory.
