  1. That was way too much Jessie J than I wanted to hear.

I'll give Chronicle a solid 4 stars. I liked it a lot, but I certainly wasn't glowing like Rian when we left the theatre.

As for Project X, I did some research and IMDB has it listed solely as a comedy. Rotten Tomatoes however, has it listed as Drama, Science Fiction & Fantasy, and Comedy. So there's that. Also, there have been some new photos released and some do look like a survival horror movie:

I would see it because of the cool, artsy, slow-mo shots of a puppy on a moon bounce and girls in swimsuits, but who would slow-mo found footage?

    1. I'm afraid to ask, but what do you have against Jessie J? I'll admit to never even hearing her name before I looked up that song to fit into the intro of the show, but where pop artists are concerned, that should come as no big surprise. Amy Winehouse is already dead and I'm still not really sure what her deal was.

All I have to say about Project X is this: Flamethrower.

    2. Oh, and what are you, English? Here in God's America we put the "e" before the "r" in theater.

Also, I'm curious if my enjoyment level of Chronicle were more similar to yours, while still giving the movie 5 stars, if you'd have given it 5 as well. The way you talked about the movie after we saw it, it seemed like my over-the-moon reaction became the set 5-star reaction to the film meaning that you had to go with 4 stars because you weren't jizzing all over yourself with delight like I was.

    1. I don't think I'd ever been to Comics Alliance's site until you started tweeting about a bunch of their articles and comments over the past few days. Or maybe you tweet about them regularly and I just happened to catch a bunch of tweets all around the same time? Either way, I read your interview and that was cool. I usually only look at sites like that one, Newsarama, and CBR when I'm linked to an article that sounds interesting from someone on Twitter. I read a lot of Bleeding Cool articles because I follow them on Twitter and they're basically my main site for getting quick comic/movie tidbits lately. I, of course, have to sift through all the Dr. Who posts because it's a British-run site, but that's my cross to bear for not being hip, I suppose.

    2. sometimes i read CBR but their main page is like sensory overload for me! i also like Robot 6, i think they're my favorite. i mostly started reading ComicsAlliance because i needed something to peruse while waiting for water to boil and tea to steep, heh. and also i like this other blog 4thletter and one of the main writers there started writing for CA so i followed him over there.

  3. Haha, yeah a little. The Comic Book Men show is far from perfect but I feel like I know the guys having listened to the podcast for the last couple of years and the articles I read on it are so slanted it gets frustrating. And I know Comic Alliance just had a really good interview with you but I find that of all the comic news sites it is the worst. I find their writing and articles to be more opionaited and un-journalistic. If its going to be a site of opinions that's fine I just don't want to get my news from them.

    1. i was like "wow, SOMEbody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning! thanks for letting me know!" haha. ;)

that's cool, though. i think that's why i like CA more than other comics sites, because i don't read any of the comics they post about so i don't care about the hard news/facts, i like reading people's opinions about the comics instead. they do have a lot of annoying posts about stupid mash-ups and like every other post is about fanart or Legos, but i like how they do a fair amount of critical and op-ed pieces. for me i don't want to know what comic is coming out or who the creative team is, i want to know why it sucks. >:D

they also have hilarious comment threads, since they do articles about sexism in superhero comics and that sort of sociology stuff, it really draws out the scumbags. i get such a kick out of reading those threads for some reason, sort of masochistic, i guess.

    2. Yeah, I can understand that. We like it and don' like it for the same reason haha.
And as for the comment thread... man those are so hard to read but I get sucked in by them too. Its like crack.
