i LOVE Story of Ricky, holy shit, i think i've seen that movie a hundred times. it's a Chinese movie but based on a Japanese comic. the part where Ricky flips out in the rain is one of the finest scenes ever filmed.
ReplyDeletethe only Moebius things i have are Silver Surfer Parable and a couple of his art books, but i've never been able to find any of his comics much less find them at a price i can afford. :( i was psyched when they re-released Incal but then bummed when i saw how expensive it was. i just can't shell out that kind of cash.
I enjoy discovering and watching bad movies, but I don't know if I could re-watch something like Riki-Oh. My viewing of it was more of a "I have to see this movie once" kind of experience. Beyond the ridiculous gore, I can't imagine sitting through the entire thing more than once...unless there were a Rifftrax...
DeleteThe standard hardcover reprint version of The Incal is like $40 or $50, but it's also a lot of comics. Nay, a lot of great comics. I can understand not being able to afford books like that, though. I think Humanoids is going to release a new softcover in the near-ish future. That'll probably be like $30 if I had to guess. They recently did the same thing with Madwoman Of The Sacred Heart.
I wish I'd known you were interested in getting your hands on some Moebius books. I sent some of his EPIC reprints to all of the Stock*Pile Comics guys for Christmas and I could've sent one your way. I'm down to just my personal copies now, though.
