Vigilante Granny on ZUDA Comics!

Some of my former classmates and I have a web comic in competition over at ZUDA Comics right now. For those not in the know, ZUDA is run by DC Comics. You know, the people who bring us Batman and Superman every month? So guess what, if enough people head over to ZUDA's website and vote for us, I could potentially get a check from DC Comics in the mail. How cool's that? Pretty damn cool, right? Right.

So what the hell are you waiting for?! Click the pic below and go vote already!

Vigilante Granny

Vigilante Granny FTW!

What A Nice Excuse The Holidays Make

The Top 5 Reasons Why Episode 53 Of The Sidetracked Podcast Is So Late:

5.) Satellite television

4.) The holidays (shopping, wrapping, baking, etc.)

3.) Jesse's Wedding

2.) Working two retail jobs during the holiday shopping season

And the number one reason why Rian hasn't gotten around to editing the podcast is...

1.) Call of Duty: World At War on PS3

Happy Holidays from The Sidetracked Podcast.

The Wait Is Almost Over

As you've undoubtedly noticed (or maybe you haven't...how the hell should we know?), it's been two weeks since the last episode of Sidetracked was posted. The next episode (#50) is a small milestone around these parts and we've got some special things planned for the show. Suffice to say that it's not your average episode of the Sidetracked Podcast and there have been some (extremely god**** infuriating!!!) setbacks during the editing process. Due to this fact, we hope that you'll be patient with, and forgiving of, the amount of time that this episode has taken/will take to debut. Chances are episode 50 will (finally) become available within the next 36 hours. Then again, chances are only chances.

Cross your fingers.

Well, it was bound to happen eventually...

It appears that there won't be a podcast this week.

If that makes you sad, then by all means leave us a comment on this post and tell us so. If not, well...we can take a hint.

While we've got your ear (or your eye) for a moment though, something other than praise and cries of longing that we'd like to hear from you, our audience, are ideas for Top 5 lists which we can run down on future episodes. Topics can be related to movies, comic books, music, video games, etc. Anything, really. Just be original and throw some ideas our way.

We'll be listening.

Or reading, as it were.

Enjoy your week.

Labor Day Lateness

Yes, the new episode of Sidetracked is late once again. Forgive the pun, but we're laboring away to get episode #41 finished and online for your eagerly awaiting ears. Bear with us.

In Case You Were Wondering...

...yes, episode 36 of The Sidetracked Podcast is going to be late (and, in fact, already is). It has already been recorded, and as soon as Rian finds a few free hours to spend putting it together and getting it online he'll be sure to do just that. If he had to guess when that might be, he'd most likely wager that the episode should be live sometime today (Tuesday).

In the meantime, why not re-listen to one of your favorite past episodes of the show? Or how about going outside and taking a nice, leisurely walk? Or hell, why not put one of your favorite past episodes of Sidetracked on your iPod or other portable MP3-ready device and listen to it outside while taking a nice leisurely walk?

Sidetracked. The gift that keeps on giving.

Better Nate Than Lever...

Episode 34 of the Sidetracked Podcast should be in this very spot, but as you can clearly see, it isn't. I've tried uploading it multiple times now and the upload decides to freeze about 1/4 of the way from completion during each and every attempt. It's 8:30 in the morning right now and I'm tired of messing with this thing at the moment (and tired in general), so with any luck the new episode should go live sometime this afternoon after I drag myself out of bed. I guess that's all up to the internet though, so cross your fingers.

Guess What!

That's right, for the third week in a row The Sidetracked Podcast is going to be released late. At this point an explanation is probably unnecessary. When episode 32 is released (presumably sometime late Monday/early Tuesday) we'll surely describe the circumstances which caused the delay. However, if you cross your fingers real hard there's a good chance that next week's show (episode 33) will be available for your listening pleasure at the regularly scheduled time (somewhere between 12:00 am and 11:59 pm on Sunday). In other words, Jesse isn't planning to spend the weekend with Jenny and/or a group of middle-schoolers. At least if he is, he hasn't told Rian yet.

Where's Sidetracked?

Good question.

We're going to be late again this week, unfortunately. Once again life has gotten in the way of the show. You may be thinking about the two people who run this blog and asking to yourself "what life?", but that's the only excuse we've got to give at this point. Rest assured, we'll be back with episode 31 of The Sidetracked Podcast as soon as possible, though at the moment we don't have a definitive timeframe to announce as to when that will be.

Write all of your hate mail in the comments section of this post, c/o Jesse Munoz and/or Rian Miller (but mostly Jesse).

Episode 30 Is Coming . . . Slowly

For the two of you out there who are eagerly awaiting the release of Episode 30 of the Sidetracked Podcast, rest assured that we're doing our damnedest to get it online asap. Between work and girlfriends (or more appropriately, girlfriend), we've been pressed for time this weekend; a fact which, combined with sudden technical difficulties, has pushed back the release of the new episode a bit. If all goes to plan (and we'll be lucky if it does...), Episode 30 of Sidetracked should be waiting for you by the time you wake up on Tuesday morning.

To whet your whistle, here are some of the topics that you can expect to hear addressed in the upcoming show:
- Our collective thoughts on Louis Leterrier and Edward Norton's The Incredible Hulk
- Jesse's review of Kung-Fu Panda
- Discussion of Gerard Way's new Umbrella Academy trade paperback
- Our opinions of the highly anticipated Invincible #50
- Fond memories of NBA Jam and NFL Blitz
- Comic book collectors versus comic book readers
- The many, many ways which Alien vs Predator: Requiem nearly made Rian slit is wrists
...and many, many more. No joke. Expect this to be our longest episode yet (most likely breaking the two hour mark!).

So keep your shirt on, hold your horses, and for the love of god, don't get your panties in a bunch, because Sidetracked is coming...

...just a little later than usual.

In House Announcement

Following the next episode of The Sidetracked Podcast (#21), the frequency of the appearance of new episodes will be changing from twice a week to once a week. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, new episodes of the show will continue to be posted here every Sunday. There are multiple reasons why we've decided to make this change, but we both agree that this is the best way to go about continuing the show.
