  1. That was a pretty good episode, I liked hearing Rian's dad on the show. My dad also wanted to go see Knowing with me, but I declined as there is nothing about the movie appealing to me.

Rian, I think your dad might have just taken the top spot of wackiest belief on the podcast. It's definitely in the top five. I also think he might have seen the final episode of Battlestar Galactica, in which (spoilaz!) the crew finally finds Earth, and it's populated by neanderthals. They decide to set up camp, and 150,000 years later it turns out all of mankind is descended from Helo and Athena's half-human half-Cylon daughter Hera. Speaking of which, I know I previously placed Battlestar Galactica in my #1 spot of best TV show of all time (above Dexter and Lost, even), but after seeing that finale I'm forced to knock it down a few pegs. The first three seasons (hell, the first half of season four as well) are phenomenal, some of the best science fiction I've ever seen, but that ending was retarded.

Okay, enough ranting. Back to drawrin'.

  2. I assure you that he hasn't seen any of Battlestar Galactica. Glad you liked the show. We're trying to pick another movie that we both want to see so we can do another review sometime in the near future. It's looking like slim pickins until may, though.

So you're now saying that LOST occupies a higher spot on your favorite TV shows list than BSG? Do you think it has any chance of holding that spot when it's own series finale rolls around next spring?

I just had a good idea. The next time you and I do a podcast together we should do a top 5 of our favorite sci-fi. Not just TV shows, but movies, books, comics, and other shit in general. The best sci-fi we've ever seen, read, or heard. Thoughts?

That's a good idea. I could start right now, actually. The Ender Saga by Orson Scott Card would be on there, probably in the top three. I'd put the first three seasons of BSG in there, Lost, the original Star Wars trilogy, Terminator, Back to the Future, man there's so much. I'll come up with a definitive list, though.

As for Lost remaining in my top five once it's over, it depends on whether they deliver the goods with the finale. I have every ounce of faith in their ability to wrap this up with a satisfying conclusion.

Although, I would have said that about the BSG writers and look how they screwed the pooch on that. So I guess we'll see.
