Hahaa! Thanks for the shout out, guys! Yeah, we just had a baby boy, Milo, and he's our first. All the cliches about birth/kids are true. It's weird how true.
Well, I won't kid you, that show was rough, but it was entertaining hearing you guys squirm. That documentary sounds intense. I'll check it out.
Are you guys avoiding Stock*pile talk, because you 1) want to get farther in project; 2) don't want to promote your own stuff; 3) keeping things secret right now? I'm curious, and the stuff on the blog from all of you is SICK. I'm saying hear, because I can't post it there. Also, what's the word on that Mercury and the Murd project... available to order online?
I think I got close on your last name, but I don't think I got it perfect.
ReplyDeleteI will say this: Since you guys just welcomed your first son into the world, I would recommend that you DON'T watch Dear Zachary. Just saying. Maybe wait a few years. 20 or so should do it.
If all goes to plan, Joel is going to be on the next episode of the show, so I was planning to bring up Stock*Pile and what each of us are working on. We haven't talked about it much yet because...well, I'm not sure how much there is to say. We'll definitely tackle it on the next show though, so you've got that to look forward to, I guess. We did a mini-interview with Joel about Forever Winter a few months ago, but due to some issues with the segment, we decided to scrap it.
As for Mercury And The Murd...
For several reasons, I'm not terribly happy with/proud of my work on MatM, which is why I haven't talked much about it recently. I've asked the writer how people can get it a few times, but he's never given me much of an answer. I just sent a message to the creator of MatM, so I'm waiting to hear back from him about ordering it. To my knowledge, there's no way to get one, but I'll let you know as soon as I find out for sure.
I genuinely appreciate your interest in, and enthusiasm for the work, but the simple fact is that even if there does turn out to be a way to order the book, that won't translate into any revenue for myself. In lieu of an actual copy, which you (unfortunately) may never be able to get your hands on, if you're interested, you can see all of the unlettered, un-toned, and in the case of issue 8, un-inked artwork I produced for the book here: http://rianmiller.com/matm/
Wow. That featured review really turned this episode 180 degrees. I am intrigued and interested to watch "Dear Zachary" despite all the warnings and sure-signs that I'll be depressed for days. I know that horrible feeling you get when you truly hate someone while watching something, and still I want to put myself through that for some reason.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Joel next episode!
Dear Zachary's on instant watch, so do it up.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as it turns out, it's not just Joel on the next episode...
