  1. Totally hate the "death" card used in mainstream comics only because it's predictable that the character is coming back (keep 'em dead). I'm in the minority that actually picked up the 7 issues surrounding Human Torch's "death" (which was so hyped, and wasn't really even a kill scene!), but I'll defend it with buying them because of Hickman. Without the press, I wouldn't of looked into it further and saw the praise of his writing (which is justified).

Really looking forward to "Powers" on FX. Hope it gets picked up. I loved the book, and am a HUGE fan of Oeming's art. Surprised to hear Sidetracked silenced about what's on FX. Jesse mentioned Shield and Sons of Anarchy (both really great shows), but also Rian's now beloved Archer (I know you watch on Netflix...), Rescue Me, It's Always Sunny..., Louie, and other greats that have unfortunately been cancelled. Probably one of my favorite channels.

Wrote a ton, but great show (to all four guys)! Bummer about sound going shitty, felt like good momentum was going.

  2. I'm pretty sure that was the first time I've ever heard Jeese say the f-word... twice! I know they weren't his words per se, but still, kind of mind-blowing.

  3. Nico - I love Louie. I just watched second season premier and thought it was great. Never watched Rescue mMe or It's Always Sunny. I tried to watch the Wilfred premier but just thought it wasn't that funny. I hope Powers is good!

    Brian - Savor it! lol

  4. Kansas is great but somebody get him a new microphone or SOMETHING, he's practically unlistenable! not just the weird sound but i can't even understand half the stuff he says because of it, argh!

Rian: i'm with you on your sentiments about big stuff not overshadowing the small stuff. it doesn't matter as long as people can still produce the other things. and i'm glad to hear you dug Splice, i loved it and haven't talked to many people who liked it or much less saw it.

i can't wait to check out Green Lantern on netflix. >:D

  5. NICO: I'm trade-waiting on Fantastic Four, so I haven't had a chance to read the "death" of the Human Torch arc yet, but for all the praise he's getting, I've found Hickman's writing to be very dull and uninteresting on that book thus far. I wrote a post about the first 3 volumes on my personal blog a while ago that I wanted to link to, but Tumblr's giving me problems at the moment.

Yeah, my problem is that I almost exclusively watch TV shows via Netflix or downloads, so I don't know what networks half of my favorite shows are one. I've downloaded every episode of Sons Of Anarchy, but haven't watched any of them yet. Never seen Rescue Me or Louie (the latter of which I want to check out), and I'm one of those party poopers who doesn't like It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I have no problem with FX or anything, but because of my lack of interest in the Powers comics, I'm not dying to see the TV show either.

Man...I'm a major downer this evening.

    BRIAN: I don't even think I noticed.

ROSS: Kansas' audio is a problem. I've thought of a few things I want to try the next time he's on to help fix the problem. I feel like his audio wasn't this bad on the Stock*Pile episode.

Splice was one of my favorite movies of last year. I've been a Vincenzo Natali fan for years, ever since I first saw Cube, so it was great to see him get a major release like Splice even though it didn't do very well. Still, I got it on Blu-ray and will watch the hell out of it for years to come.

Thanks for listening, everyone! I've been really enjoying having feedback for a change over the last several episodes.
